Chaymelow A.A., Strogonov K.V. The analysis of functioning of the flue tract boilers heating boiler with work on one chimney

In this paper, the task of improving the energy efficiency of the electric steelmaking process of foundry production was set. The paper describes the technology of pre-heating of the charge for smelting steel in an electric arc furnace (EAF). Thermal balances of the furnace were calculated for the variant without scrap heating and for the variant with scrap heating up to 600°C. Was a selection of equipment for pre-heating scrap, and calculated the economic effect of the transition to the preheating of scrap with natural gas.
