Yachikov I.M., Utemisova A.A. Determination of the effective radial coefficient of thermal conductivity of steel tape rolls
The value of the radial coefficient of thermal conductivity is the most important characteristic on which the heating or cooling time of a cold-rolled sheet coil depends. The coefficient of thermal conductivity depends on the density of the coil of the coil, the thickness and surface properties of the sheet, on the gas atmosphere, the burnup conditions of the technological lubricant, etc. A mathematical model is proposed that allows one to determine the effective radial thermal conductivity of the coil of a cold-rolled sheet. It was found that it depends on the steel grade and grows with increasing sheet thickness, temperature and contact pressure between the sheets (coil winding density). The effective radial coefficient of thermal conductivity is also affected by the degree of surface treatment of the metal and the percentage of hydrogen in the atmosphere of the bell furnace. Calculations show that under modern conditions the effective coefficient of thermal conductivity does not exceed 50% of the isotropic coefficient.
